We didn't reach enough voters this time. Unfortunately, moderate Republican voters voted down party line again. District 14 elected someone who did not earn their vote, will not work for their best interests, someone who was approached to run by Yakima special interests, someone who had to ask several times if the job worked for him. Will he work at all? We will see!
Get involved in your local county or legislative district democratic party. Be on the board, become a PCO, pay membership dues, attend meetings, talk to voters. Help the young democrats organize.
Find your local nonpartisan voter outreach and education organization to register voters and then make sure they are educated voters. League of Women Voters is my favorite. Yakima County has an organization and a chapter is starting in the Gorge soon.
Volunteer for 2019 candidates, maybe run for office yourself!
Talk to your family, friends, coworkers, neighbors about voting and why being an educated voter is so important. Talk about the issues too and avoid divisive political talking points. Heroes' Handbook is a great resource to learn how.
